Eyes take several minutes to get used to the dark
text in Oculus Rift
This work started with the question if it is possible to be surrounded by a story instead of reading it on a two-dimensional page.
A story written in Virtual Reality is surrounding the viewer. In order to read it, you have to look upwards, under your feet, left, right, nearby and far away.
The story is based on a truth experimentin Spitsbergen, where a friend was spending two months in the dark without any light and time.
Like in the story, there is no light and sense time in the Oculus Rift. While wearing the Oculus Rift you will have to get used to the dark in order to read the text which surrounds you. While reading, a parallel universe unfolds in which the biological clock turns upside down and the protagonist, as well as the viewer, tends to get disorientated.
