Wandering Signals

Wandering Signals makes the invisible choreography of wireless transmissions - the constant energy waves connecting our devices - tangible through playful, creature-like sculptures. Nuyten cultivated an entire family of these “signal beings”. These forms invite us to reflect on the non-human systems quietly sustaining our digital routines, such as a morning message or a missed call. Each sculpture’s title corresponds to a smartphone action, like Wandering Signals - Declined call or Wandering Signals - SMS.
